Theresa Dickerson, Mpact Girls Coordinator

I am so proud of our girls that attend the Mpact Girls Club & Teen Girls Ministry every Wednesday night. They arrive in their club rooms with their uniforms on, eager to learn, and ready to show us all they’ve learned over the past week. They’re especially proud when they bring in a visitor. These young ladies are so excited about what they’ve accomplished and they want to bring in their classmates. They want to share how the Word of God is working in their lives. The Mpact Girls are a huge part of why this ministry has continued to grow. They are asking so many questions about Jesus, being saved, and being filled with the Holy Ghost. Sometimes they ask questions faster then I can answer them. Their minds are hungry and it’s up to us as adults and leaders to feed them. Just sitting idling by will not help these girls turn into outstanding leaders in our community. We must act now while we can, while their minds are hungry for the Word of God.

Lets be examples and teach them the right way, God’s way. Let’s show them love, not hate, and let’s be supportive, not critical. Let’s not teach them to abandon responsibilities when life doesn’t go the way they think it should go. If our children are failing it’s our fault, not theirs. Let’s join forces and guide our children along God’s pathway to righteousness. Let’s start in our own backyard, with our children, in our own community. Don’t wait for their grandparents, school teachers, or even the pastor of the church to make sure our children make it to glory. Make an impact and put forth some effort and your work will not be in vain.

Praise God!

I count it as such a blessing to be able to minister to a group of intelligent, talented, and outgoing individuals. The Lord sent me to New Beginnings to fulfill His work and I give Him all the praise and the honor for everything these girls and I have accomplished and will accomplish in His holy name! Please take a moment to watch the promo video below; it is sure to bless your heart. The Lord continues to bless us all! We kicked off our 2nd Annual "Holiday Hunger" food drive on June 12, 2009 and we've already seen an out pour of support from our community.  We held a "Baby-Sitting Night" to kick it off at the church from 7PM - 9PM and received several bags of groceries in turn for 2 hours of babysitting.  Even though we did not have any vistors we did have Mpact Girls and Leaders there.  Thank you to everyone for your support and we look forward to gathering more food for our "Holiday Hunger" program before November 17th.

We had another great turn out from our last luncheon, Taco Fiesta! Thank you to everyone who came out despite the weather.  We are now looking forward to our Baby-Sitting night on June 12,2009 and kicking off the Holiday Hunger Program.

This will be our second year collecting canned goods for families in our community.  Our goal last year was to feed one family and we received so much support from our friends, family members, and church members that we were able to collect enough food to feed two families.  Sis Melinda Oakley and I donated two turkeys to the cause...besides, what's Thanksgiving without a turkey?

Lets raise the bar this year and see if we can raise enough canned goods and non-perishables to feed four families.  That way each Mpact Girls Club here at New Beginnings will get a chance to deliver a family dinner for Thanksgiving.  If you would like to participate in our program you have two great ways to help.  If you would like a few hours off from the kids just drop them off along with a few canned goods at New Beginnings on June 12th at 7PM.  We'll be happy to take care of the kids while you run your errands or have date night.  We'll play games,  have snacks,  watch movies, and lave lots of fun things to do to keep them busy.  Then stop back by at 9PM on your way back home and pick the kids up.  If you don't have kids then all you have to do is bring in a donation of non-perishable foods to New Beginnings before November 2009, that's it!

Thanks for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you on June 12, 2009!

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us on Saturday, March 14, 2009.  The Mpact Girls & Teen Girls Ministries hosted a St. Patrick's Day Baked Potato Luncheon.  We served chili, sandwiches, cookies, punch, tea, etc.  Lots of fun was had by all, not to mention the great cause it help fund.

All proceeds went toward the Mpact Girls & Teen Girls Ministries sleepover in October.  The funds were to help purchase sleepover t-shirts, badges, food, games, etc.  The theme this year was St. Patrick's Day and we were so blessed that so many of you came out on such a cold and rainy day, THANK YOU!

The Mpact Girls and Teen Girls Ministries had a very busy 2008 and 2009 seems to be equally if not more so.  Here are some pictures from some of our projects we've been working on.
